Intro to Arduino

On Sunday, February 14th we introduced the Hackers to the Arduino platform. We had stations set up with an Arduino Uno, USB cable, and laptop with Arduino software and USB driver. Topics covered were:

Introduce Arduino – Basics of the board and its parts. We also gathered around the big screen to watch a couple videos showing examples of cool projects people have done.

First Program – They plugged in the Arduinos and opened the Adruino software. We then spoke about the parts of the IDE and how to check the COM port and Board Type. Together they wrote the blink program from scratch.

More Soldering – We also had a review session for those that wanted extra time with their soldering irons. Practice makes perfect.
